This is incredibly stupid. Someone should do a complete breakdown on the actual merits of the statement that Texas wants them to display:
TEXAS HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES WARNING: Pornography is potentially biologically addictive, is proven to harm human brain development, desensitizes brain reward circuits, increases conditioned responses, and weakens brain function
This is mostly true (at least it was for me), but the law is still stupid. You’re not going to stop internet porn with age verification. It’s never worked, kids will always find a way around it.
I don’t think they are wrong though.
Wrote a research paper on this in college, still a dumb and unenforceable law based on poor understanding of inconclusive research.
Side note that porn can also be positive for young folk struggling with their sexuality in a place like Texas.
