As a Brazilian, first I was sort of proud and intrigued; “wow, they were really desperate to get here”. (why?)
…Then I read they actually thought they were going to Europe. (haha, c’mon, check the ship’s route before you do that)
…And that two of them asked to be sent back to Nigeria after finding out they were in Brazil. (now I’m sort of offended)
Yeye, a pentecostal minister from Lagos state, said his peanut and palm oil farm was destroyed by floods this year, leaving him and his family homeless. He hopes they can now join him in Brazil.
I expect to see many more stories like this. So tragic.
