The first two features mentioned are also available with OpenBoard (the Helium-Something fork) afaik

Metro, gorgeous looking Material You themed Music player, fork of RetroMusic, but with all premium features unlocked. All common features you expect from a music player are included.
If you dont mind me asking - how would root improve this Situation? (I’ve got little to non knowledge about rooting)
