Okay so you don’t trust the robot to give relationship advice, even if that advice is identical to what humans say. The trouble is we never really know where ideas come from. They percolate up into consciousness, unbidden. Did I speak to a robot earlier? Are you speaking to a robot right now? Who knows. All I know is that when someone I love and respect asks me to explain myself I feel that I should do that no matter what.
Are you saying it would be preferable if she was given the same advice from a human or read it in a book? This guy cannot defend his point of view because it’s probably not particularly defensible, the robot is immaterial.
Like her need for him to answer reasonable questions? Why does the origin of the question pose a threat and why doesn’t he give examples? He’s like the rando poster who says ‘hey guys I forgot the passcode to my iPhone, got a workaround for that?’ okay buddy, so you stole a phone then.
He’s probably gaslighting her and she doesn’t have anyone else to turn to for a reality check.
His question amounts to ‘how can I continue to shape her reality with my narrative?’
It doesn’t matter what chatgpt or anyone else says, he ought to be able to answer reasonable questions. Note that he doesn’t provide any specific examples. He would get roasted in the comment section.
This man is probably an asshole and this woman is probably smarter than him.
Loving the clouds painted on the ceiling. Did a five year old design this house?
Also never underestimate American fragility.
Hand tools are spiritual in a way that machine tools will never be. I love the texture and heft of planes. The simplicity and quiet operation. Working with timber and steel is one of the greatest pleasures in life.
Wehrmacht was not a Nazi organisation. Members were free to join the party but they were not under any obligation. The SS was an explicitly Nazi army but completely separate from the Wehrmacht.
German people were compelled to ‘support the troops’ in the same way that Americans are compelled to support their many illegal invasions of sovereign territory. The British continue to build and operate colonial era warships. The main difference is they were on the winning side, lmao, etc.
Will we be able to fry ants with it?
Yahoo, the cowboys of journalism.
You are a gigachad that lives in the future.
I lived next to the most dangerous puffin crossing in the UK (Whitley, Coventry). This statistic seemed unbelievable at first because the crossing doesn’t look dangerous but over the years I came to believe it. I personally witnessed the aftermath of four accidents and was curious about their origin. The way local people used the crossing was to walk up, press the button and walk across, often without looking at the road. There was a time delay of about a minute and as such the crossing was usually empty by the time the light was red and the cars were waiting for nobody.
I suppose nobody wants to be a loser but some people are pathological with it. I would imagine a typical scenario is some young guy has reached the limit of what he can achieve in a game and is still losing. They implement cheats for a while and then quit the game entirely because it still doesn’t scratch the itch and now it’s also become boring. Everyone loses.
Chewing coca leaves seems to have a long history that continues to this day. I hear it’s common practice among long distance drivers of the present and it wouldn’t be surprising to find out that this has been the case ever since people made long transits on foot or horseback. Not sure we can call it cocaine though, isn’t that term reserved for the hydrochloride salt form of the drug?
LED technology has progressed massively and is now at the state where you can carry a device with the lighting power of a car headlamp but it only consumes 10W, weighs 200g and fits in the palm of your hand. I can ride my bike through the woods at night, as if it were daytime. All we need now is some technology that makes the woods less creepy after sundown and we’ll be all set.
Another big one for me is Wikipedia and the information sphere in general. I forgot what it’s like to have to physically go to a library to look something up or learn a new skill, amazing power at our fingertips. Showing my age a bit here.
What else? Computer aided engineering tools, cordless power tools, phones and computers in general, lithium ion batteries, my automated coffee maker kills it, drug technology, I like it all.
Skill issue.
