You don’t see women getting accosted by guys who like feet because they have their toes out and it’s sexual to some guy nearby.

If dudes into feet can control themselves and be respectful then so can dudes into breasts when they are near a top less woman in public.

I always look at it this way… being into feet is one of the most common paraphilias(other than breasts) that people can have.

If folks into feet can control themselves in summertime when barefeet and sandals are common, then people into boobs can control themselves when they see female nipples out.

I also agree that we need to desexualize the nude human body outside of sexual contexts. I went to a classical art school where we would draw from live nude models for 8 hours a day.

How quickly you get used to nude bodies is kind of impressive, and the men in class didn’t turn into sex crazed animals when we had nude female models. The folks into penises didn’t become possessed with lust over the nude male models. Everything went professionally as it should. So people can in fact handle nude bodies with maturity when they want to.

As someone from the US i always saw it as people can’t afford to take time off to donate, so compensating them for their time makes it so they can afford to donate.

A few states make it illegal to be monetarily compensated for your blood or plasma, but others it’s completely fine.

I don’t know man, in the US people pay insurance companies money to have access to life saving medications like insulin. So in a way we pay people so we don’t die from medical neglect… which could be considered negligent homicide depending on how you argue it.

I dont get how the surgeon thought this was okay. When I have a regular check up I have to give permission for a student doctor to simply sit in on my appointment.

I awhile back I saw an eagle eating roadkill and as my car approached, it grabbed the carcass it was eating and flew off into a field with it a few feet, dropped it, and sat down to start eating it again.

Had no idea eagles ate carrion. I figured that one was just young or something and having a hard time hunting, but I guess not?

I’m in zone 6! Marshmallows like a lot of water, and will take partial shade. If you have an area that likes to puddle or gets really water logged that’s a perfect place tp put them since they’ll soak up all the water.

Also, they get VERY large. Like 6-7ft tall and 3-4ft wide on their second year. They do die back to the ground completely in winter though. And they can spread when they’re happy so make sure you leave lots of space for them.

They are very easy to grow from seed with some stratifying in the fridge(simulate winter), or get pre-stratified seeds. Good luck and enjoy!

There’s a native marshmallow plant(althea officinalis) that I grow in my gardens. Trying to get the roots out to make marshmallows is like trying to pull an octopus out of the ground.

Iirc lead poisoning isn’t much of an issue because your body encapsulates it, preventing the body from absorbing it.

Metal detectors are a non issue. My dad has several pieces of metal in his spine from surgeries. He occasionally sets off metal detectors, but it’s never been a huge issue with security. It’s more common than you think. People have metal plates, screws and general hardware put in surgically for a variety of reasons. It’s fairly common.

Historical baggage. Women have been “othered” in male dominated spaces for a very longtime and their accomplishments systemically diminished.

This woman trained very hard to get to be a cosmonaut, only to get there and be greeted with sexism. It’s very problematic and not a joke. She should’ve been greeted with enthusiasm and excitement for her and everyone elses accomplishment of being in space. Instead she got an apron.

A good rule to follow for jokes in the workplace is its only funny if everyone’s laughing. Otherwise it’s just adult bullying.

I honestly wish I could block trump like in black mirror. So whenever his face comes up on my screen it’s automatically blurred. His voice gets a long “bleeeep” for however long he’s talking. That’d make me happy. I’m sick of seeing his ugly mug and hearing his shitty words everywhere.

Tbh this is one is a little personally motivated.

I watched a very smart person I worked for get sucked into an MLM and it was disturbingly cult like the way it played out. One day literally everything about was this Lev-el Thrive vitamin shit. Which around $300 a month to take caffeine laced vitamins with willow bark. Which they were told was safe for everyone by the company… but willow bark is more or less asprin. People with heart issues shouldn’t be taking that shit.

I used to think only stupid people fell for mlms, but my previous boss successfully ran a business for around 15 years(the one I was employed at). I had to leave that job because my boss couldn’t pay me anymore. All their money went into this ‘side business’ that the company kept saying they’d make it back. They did not.

That whole experience was like a fever dream to me. It felt like my boss had been body snatched by some mlm greed demon, and ever since i just see mlms as culty life ruiners that should be illegal.

MlM’s. They’re predatory.

It probably has more to do with the fact that when a researcher or scientist discovers a new species they get to name it.

So if they start changing the names of things it’s basically taking that away from them and stepping on a lot of people’s toes.

Honestly I kinda get it. Getting to name a species is a reward for years of hard work. I’d be pissed if people could change the names of stuff I worked hard to discover. Then again I wouldn’t name them after genocidal assholes or racist bullshit so there wouldn’t be that problem to begin with.

I had my last phone so long(about 5-6 years I think) that I was forced to get a new one because it was no longer supported.

I know they have to have a cut off somewhere, but around 5 years doesn’t seem like that long for a device. Maybe I’m just getting old, or planned obsolescence or something.

But yes, having that phone for a longtime prevented ewaste and saved me quite a bit of money. Be nice to your phone and it’ll go longer than the company supports it.
