Stuff like that will probably never be the same as talking with an actual person since by design it can’t comprehend its input or output.
However it will be close enough to be a learning experience. Learning a language in class has the same problem that it can’t replace communicating with actual people other than the teacher.
One of our cats does the same. We go for a walk with our dogs and she just trails along like 3 meters behind. We didn’t train her to do this. Just decided one day that she wanted to walk with us.
