If you pay with your CC and sign the receipt after seeing the total, you’re going to have a very hard time getting it removed.

This is brilliant. Definitely going to try this tomorrow.
A good pair of pliers, like the Knipex Cobra.
It seems silly to be distrustful of proprietary BIOS firmware without having the same skepticism of the actual hardware.
I had a linux 5520 and it was terrible. Standby and bluetooth never worked properly. Are the new models any better?
I think it’s more like “snuck up on us” than any kind of nefarious connotation. Kind of like “how did a niche game like BG3 sneak into the top ten games list”?
Blocked by my employer’s security policies.
Seattle is less affordable than it seems. Unlike California and many other states, WA has neither a property tax increase limit nor a homestead exemption. As a result, property taxes in WA, already some of the highest in the country, arbitrarily track market prices and don’t get any kind of tax break. My property taxes cost more than my 30yr fixed mortgage now. If the price trends continue, I won’t be able to afford my house within a decade, just because on paper someone might theoretically be willing to pay some ridiculous amount to buy it from me.
That’s why your phone has a brightness slider, or better yet an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts brightness. DE will need something similar.
And no decryption keys for other attached drives.
Unlikely - this is on an iPhone, which has better color accuracy than most consumer displays.
Free access to contraceptives, proper sex education, and protecting abortion rights would go a long way to reducing the birth rate.
Does everyone have to like it or do I just get to pick one and everyone has to live with it? If the latter, I might give technocracy a try…
I can’t tell if:
Because to me, “White” looks like olive, “Magenta” looks like salmon, and “Pink” looks like clay.
Honestly it’s refreshing to not see the word “slammed” for once…
What is product content?
I had to read most of the article to figure this out, too. It’s referring to the product description and accompanying media. Some sites show you little more than a 64-pixel thumbnail and generic info like “Size: 10, Color: Blue”. Having “more content” means high-quality and accurate product photos, sizing charts, etc. Considering that definition, it seems obvious that buyers are reluctant to pay for something if they’re not even sure what they’re getting.
On days I leave the house, I shower once in the morning. That used to be 5-6 times per week, but since COVID I’ve been working from home, so that number is 1-2. I’ll also shower after swimming or strenuous exercise, though that’s rare for me.
That’s precisely why it’s not okay to have such an exception for of the user opts out of sharing private data.
union leaders and truck drivers said would save hundreds of thousands of jobs
There might be good reasons to have human drivers in autonomous trucks, at least for a while. But “saving jobs” is not one of them.
Based on the image text this is for new accounts only. My account has neither phone nor credit card and I’ve not been asked to re-verify. Maybe they’re having problems with bots at the moment.
