There’s this thing in Roman history, where the Romans basically stopped being warriors and left all the fighting to men from the provinces like Gaul. Despite the Gauls being a part of the Roman Empire for centuries, and being their main fighting force and protectors, the Romans still saw them as barbarians and looked down on them. They were just as educated as Romans by this point but were still seen as others. Anyways, that’s how Trump supporters view people of color in the military. They fight for them and protect them but they’re still “barbarians” and they don’t want them around.
