Between the toes and the knees lie the shins.
Take away the shins and you’re left with Toe-Knee.
Tony.
Disclosure: I’m in the UK where the worker protections are half-decent.
was it ever not OK?
It was not OK to not take a jobby on work time when you had the opportunity!
I’ve worked shifts where my relief staffer has been in twenty minutes early (long commute, unpredictable traffic) so I’ve handed the shift over, and ensured that the remainder of my time was spent losing half a kilo of weight in five minutes. Conversely, it feels far more productive to leave the house half-needing to give birth to a brown otter, and nip to the bog once your feet are clear of your workload that you’ve taken on from the previous shift to go and perform the bowel movement while being paid for it.
Shitting in my own khazi on my days off feels like voluntary work now.
Sensibly though, any manager who controls bog time is just a bit of a fanny. Unless someone is obviously taking the piss like spending four hours of a ten hour shift, then people will perform better once they’ve laid a cable whenever they’ve needed to.
Every sword game - maimed horrifically.
I seem to recall Bushido Blade crudely implemented this in the late 90’s, introducing rudimentary disablements on a Fallout-style limb system that would slow you down if you took a slash to the leg, or render your hand ineffective if you were struck there.
The slow march into middle age is making my memories fuzzy.
Purely a subjective opinion (and I apologise if the artist shows up in this thread) but is it me or does it look like the person who made the background took a step back after it was done, marvelled at how pretty it was, and enjoyed the moment before thinking “…fuck I forgot about O’Brien”?
It’s a great bit of artwork but poor Miles looks like an afterthought!
Ten year old me would beg to differ.
Videos turned Encarta 95 from being an encyclopedia to the encyclopedia!
I jest - a multimedia experience helps but I agree that the text knowledge is the big draw.
I thought Gun Jesus was trying to pivot to other streaming platform for his main content, and YouTube was just a bit of extra exposure while it lasts?
I haven’t been keeping up with it so I may be 12 months behind the curve.
I dunno man. I quite enjoy watching documentaries on how the bangbang sticks go bang, and how engineers overcame technical challenges.
I’m not a huge fan of Gravy Seals videos of people doing weird cover to cover movement and blatting off rounds at targets, but each to their own.
I guess I think there’s bigger problems faced by YouTube and this should be pretty far down the list.
Good old pagers. I absolutely don’t miss mine, but they were a welcome relief to get the odd message when you were working in dangerous or “clean” environments where phones (or any other electronic or transmitting device) were prohibited.
I think my last one fell out of my belt and into a toilet mid-piss, so that was that.
I’ve got one and it’s cool… but that’s about it.
It’s starting to chug now with modern apps (or legacy apps with new updates), the touchscreen is becoming increasingly unresponsive, that battery health is starting to go off a cliff… but all those factors can be levelled at any two or three year old phone.
The hinge is the problem. My understanding is that Samsung has made a better design for the SGF 5 and 6, but i’m already on my second phone after the hinge caused the phone screen to bleed out from the centre, and I’m getting the crackle of doom from the hinge starting to sound already.
If you’re desperate for a flip phone, then I’d advise you stay clear of the SGF3 and consider the Oppo Find N2 or the Nubia Flip.
HouseHouse really need to make another Untitled Goose Game, or even just an expansion pack. That was great fun.
To take it to a logical extreme, it frustrates me when a post that considers both (or more) views and is a well thought out post, is met with a single world reply - as if it’s some sort of “gotcha” or the fact that a single ambiguity in a largely solid argument somehow usurps the entire point.
I tend to think they’re either young or generally underexposed to how human interaction works.
A good point, but if privacy is their key concern then I would imagine it would have to be a two step approach - rip out the SIM and radio, but also have a couple of plan B’s such as phones with location tracking (the irony isn’t lost on me), land-based EPIRB’s, or satphones or whatever’s needed.
That, or invest in some drop-croc martial arts!
I nipped in the Admiralty on Trafalgar Sq last Saturday lunchtime for a swift one, expecting to get royally horsed for being in a) London, b) in a tourist hotspot, and c) generally daring to have a pint outside of my own home.
£6.50. I wasn’t even mad. I thought it was even cheap given the above factors, even if it was Amstel.
In my local though, £4.10 for a pint of best or something similar.
Offtopic: I ordered two large blonde lattes at the local Starbucks, and it was £10.10. it’s literally cheaper to go on the piss than drink average-but-decent coffee now.
I always found it wild how they released Ring and Rasen on the same day - and even though one film was overwhelmingly more popular, the storyline was further fragmented with Spiral, Ring 2, and Ring Virus going in different directions… even before the west decided to go freestyle with Ring 2 and Rings.
I haven’t even gotten to watch the Sadako v Kayako films yet!
After his scrapping in F2, I’d like to see Ollie Bearman giving it another punt.
Ah I see you like the idea of England then 🔥🔥 💯
Nah seriously though, if someone paid me off to GTF somewhere warm and slightly less comfortable, i’d be all over that like a cheap suit.
Just to be a proper poser…
…obviously that was a lie, I could never afford persistent storage. Floppy swaps were king.
I’m a lad from Bradford, in the UK.
my condolences, friend
I think Tay will be taught in AI ethics-type courses for generations to come.
I wonder whether it’ll be in the context of “hey look what happened when AI had no guardrails”, or whether it will be “fuck we should have seen this coming”.
As horrendous as the content it was spouting was, it was highly amusing to see the project nosedive so spectacularly quickly.
