Whatever, you’re missing the point.

You’re thinking to high level. I’m talking about what actually drives us. Slavery has been largely abolished (but not really) because it’s out of fashion. We haven’t fundamentally changed the way we think. We’re far more alike our ancient ancestors than we think.
I absolutely disagree. Lots of history proves that we are still motivated by primal instincts of self preservation. It always comes down to that.
Thousand years from now, the same statement will be made of us. We humans change little.
Holy crap. It’s like they were reading the hive minds here yesterday. Crazy.
Store bought: Tillamook Chocolate Peanut Butter
Ice cream shop: Carl’s Frozen Custard in VA. It’s pretty famous in the US. Easily the best frozen custard anywhere. They’re still using their old Electo-Freeze machines to make it. I get their chocolate vanilla swirl or strawberry. So smooth and creamy.
lol, right! I’ll take all of it for pennie’s.
First thing I got told when I moved from NoVA to CO as a manager was people work to play. That has proven true time and time again. Snows a lot, everyone calls out and hits the slopes. Gorgeous day and they’ve just recently stocked a favorite fishing spot? Calls out to fish. Hunting season and got one of the lottery elk tags? Puts vacation in or unpaid time off since they’re extremely hard to get and goes off trying to bag and elk ok the western slope. Recently upgraded your Jeep? They’re definitely taking it off road on a mountain trail stat. Yeah, we have a ton of fun out here.
Teams boards (shared to dos)
Planner (personal lists)
Writing it down on a sticky note (priority)
Servicetitan Task Management (ugh, not a huge fan but required).
Monday (shared and I really like this one but it’s only for a particular dept’s needs).
I was just thinking this yesterday. I went from hating Teams, to liking it better than Slack, and then actually finding it super convenient.
I do really wish we could put chats and threads into folders. I have so many in the sidebar … so many.
Oh I’m sorry, weddings and prom are still very formal, true. But a lot are western wear these days. Good point.
Eastern and Western US work ideals clash all the time. I’m in CO and we are definitely a we work to play state not we live to work and I haven’t seen an actual suit worn by anyone other than a lawyer around here, even at church. As soon as someone from the east coast shows up it’s painfully obvious. We don’t have much tolerance for their go, go, go ways and usually show them a great time and a relaxed vibe to relax them a bit. They’re always perplexed at how we can perform so well with such a relaxed attitude. Doesn’t usually click that it’s correlated.
Honestly they’re excellent. I ran across A Taste of Honey while listening to the Apple Music Cocktail Party playlist.
They still made them too. 130V bulbs / garage bulbs / heavy duty bulbs all lasted far longer on 120V because the filament was thicker. They basically never went out.
Oh hell no. You don’t remember it coming out and everyone complaining about how convoluted it was. Pepperidge farm remembers.

@PugJesus@lemmy.world does an amazing job posting interesting things in the historical communities. The above is my favorite so far.
I mean, there are all kinds of creatures in the soil, why not under the sea floor? We’ve known about fish, etc hiding in it as it is. This isn’t that much of a stretch. Very cool to actually see it though.
It does, it’s just not consistent. Mlem is. I still have Voyager and check it every once in a while.
Bad PRV (Pressure Reducing Valve). They only last so long. If you have high water pressure (over 120psi) coming in they last a few years tops. If that’s the case, get one with 2 diagrams and it’ll last you 10 years at a minimum.
