  • even if there was 1000+ mg of pure THC per slice, I’m still not worried cause it is impossible to overdose

See, this is the conventional wisdom but I’m skeptical given we’ve hit a similar point with capsaicin where after a few years of arms race to make the hottest peppers in the world and making peppers hotter by orders of magnitude from what previously occured in nature we now have a couple of individuals who have died as a result of eating extremely spicy food (granted it exposed underlying health conditions but they would very likely still be alive today if they hadn’t eaten overly spicy food) so now there’s some question to the conventional wisdom of spicy food can’t kill you. And I seriously suspect that we’ll see the same with THC sooner or later

  • Nobody knows the dosage in the pizza for sure since it was a cooking accident that it was dosed with THC to begin with. You don’t really measure olive oil when you cook with it, plus the distribution wouldn’t be even, so even if you do make a guess based on about how much oil you used and the concentration of the THC in the oil, it might have simply pooled more on one side of the pan if they used it as a non-stick coating, or just based on how it mixed into the dough if they mix in olive oil normally.

With the quantities involved it’s just impossible to reliably guess the dosage that any affected product might have, and with any kind of drug, recreational or not, the dosage absolutely matters a ton.

  • Completely flabbergasted that we run internal services not indexable by google.

This is why it’s becoming the norm to have an Intranet with a links page to all of the internal and external webpages employees rely upon. Just make that the browser homepage with Kerberos authentication and the employees never need to know URLs or Google the internal/external service they’re trying to access

  • The difference between asking a trusted friend for advice vs asking ChatGPT or even just Reddit is a trusted friend will have more historical context. They probably have met or at least interacted with the person in question, and they can bring i the context of how this person previously made you feel. They can help you figure out if you’re just at a low point or if it’s truly a bad situation to get out of.

Asking ChatGPT or Reddit is really like asking a Magic 8 Ball. How you frame the question and simply asking the question helps you interrogate your feelings and form new opinions about the situation, but the answers are pretty useless since there’s no historical context to base the answers off of, plus the answers are only as good as the question asked.

  • Personally, I’m terrible about actually spending money on myself. Mostly because right now money is pretty tight as a single income household. A giftcard forces me to spend money in a more careless manner than I otherwise would. A giftcard encourages me to splurge and order a thing on Amazon or buy a super sugary treat or something else that can bring me joy. If I’m given cash I just use that to smooth over the daily grind, so giftcards absolutely hit different
