Are you sure about that? Because every picture I see of the seditious fuck makes him look like he smells of hamberder grease and dirty adult diapers.
Unless they went to a scratch-and-dent or secondhand place, then I can imagine it’d be a lot cheaper
It’s slightly different from the light just heating the water. The energy of the individual photons colliding with the water molecules causes them to vaporize without heat transfer.
I absolutely understand; I used to be a repair tech for Sprint. That said, screen repair for the Pixel 6a doesn’t even require the back to be removed, so I think it was more an education issue than anything else. I don’t think it was malicious at all, but shortly after I noticed the NFC issues, the back fell off and I saw they’d cracked it pretty severely and stuck it back on with double-stick tape. It was less the crime and more the cover-up that pissed me off.
I recently took my Pixel 6a in for screen repair; somehow, water got under the glass and caused the whole thing to glitch out in a way that looked like I spilled black ink all over. Really bizarre. Anyway, I picked up the phone and visually inspected it - all was good, so I took it home. They said they tested it, I took their word for it.
Turns out they destroyed the NFC antenna, disabling Google Pay for me. It took me almost and month and several emails to corporate, but they ended up fixing their mistake.
Point is, this very well may be the fault of the repair people. I’d reach out to them first.
Growing up in the Northeast, we got very used to wearing our puffy winter coats over our costumes most years. If you were lucky it was clear and cold, but most years it either snowed or rained.
Sure, but again just saying “switch to x” is NOT HELPFUL when someone asks for support for a completely different product.
I too have seen (and overseen) large entities switch away from Office. I don’t doubt it can be done. I’m saying telling someone to ignore the problem they’re having and use your preferred FOSS baby is useless for them, absent any other advice.
And forgive me for assuming malice, but I’ve seen now two non-FOSS Lemmy clients release and the VAST majority of comments are indeed virtue signaling.
Moron. What a nice guy you are.
Your prior comment definitely didn’t come off that way. You probably could have said what you just said here, but you didn’t. Given the context of the rest of the FOSS evangelists in this very thread, is it surprising your message wasn’t clear?
It’s because it’s not helpful.
Good for Chronos’ “fortune 500” company that can do what they need to do with LibreOffice. It’s not a solution for everyone and responding “just switch software vendors” is unhelpful in the extreme when you’re asking a tech question about a completely unrelated program. But for a minute they get to feel good about having virtue signaled as “one of the good ones.”
It’s honestly a huge turn off to Lemmy writ large. Look at what happened when Dawson released Sync.
A few weeks ago someone posted to c/techsupport with an issue with their Office install. Every. Single. Comment. was "uSe LiBrEoFfIcE” or something to that effect, some going as far as to insult the OP for asking a tech support question in the tech support forum, because MiCrOsOfT bAaAaAd.
I was the only one to offer a real solution. If I were that OP, I wouldn’t come back to Lemmy.
That was my thought. Looks like a teenage boy’s room from the crap on the floor. A kid would totally mount LED strips like that
Yeah the 6a seems to be the darling of the last few releases. Mine is pretty much perfect. No wireless charging is mildly annoying, but in the end, meh. It’s the right size, lasts long enough, and doesn’t give me problems
I’m pretty fond of Hal’s. They even have a fruit punch flavor that transports me to my childhood, ha.
I switched to sparkling water. Satisfies the “cold fizzy thing” itch without extra sugar. Though, apparently finding plain seltzer is hard in some parts.
“But I never thought the leopards would eat my face!!”
It’s bad and it’s performance is bad
🔫 Always has been
That’s … just what Edge is? On every OS it’s Chromium, they’re not shy about that fact. In fact they made a big deal of advertising that they were switching from whatever engine they were trying to half-bake when “new” Edge debuted.
Yep. I’m in IT, so every time my parents’ computer “does something weird,” I get a call. Bought them Chromebooks a few Christmases ago and the calls have all but stopped.
MTA workers, Dept of Sanitation workers, NYCHA workers… So many people who work for the city. All it takes is one hangnail or paper cut.
