TIL I write better commit messages in my hobby projects than some Linux maintainers
As a Norwegian, that got to be our coolest stat, however I have no idea how it can be true. Even in my engineering bubble there aren’t that many people using Linux. It’s all Windows and macs for home computers.
It’s not leak when it’s an intended and documented feature…
It’s been a mix throughout the years. The initial problem software years ago was Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, but since then it’s been various engineering/programming related software that only supports Windows. I’m primarily on Linux at this point on my laptop.
The amount of bots, spam and other problematic content would be overwhelming for admins to moderate, most instances would just defederate on day 0.
I did try that years ago, ran into performance issues and other bugs, and it wasn’t worth messing around with when dual booting is so simple. Might reconsider in the future if MS keeps messing up though.
Cost me a few hours and ended up just disabling secure boot in the end. Wish I didn’t need MS for some programs.
Nowadays most websites leaves half of your horizontal space empty on high resolution monitors, so you have a lot of unused real estate. Verticals tabs can also fit in more tabs while showing tab title and can implement features like collapsible tabs.
dare I say Arch is easier and users friendly than Ubuntu
No, please stop trying to fool Linux beginners into starting out with Arch.
This exaggeration gets tiresome, there are some great uses for LLM. The copilot autocomplete got to be one of the greatest QoL functions in a modern IDE.
It also generally work great for tech support, and lowers the skill requirement for installing and maintaining a Linux distro. Nowadays I will usually just redirect tech support questions from family members to an LLM.
Just because it won’t solve cancer in 10 years like the tech bros preach doesn’t mean the tech is without uses.
Can’t say I have the same experience. Other than for old niche content, the sources cited from asking perplexity.ai (I just use it since it’s free, no idea how it compares to others) tend to be exactly what I’m after.
You can pry my fishing rights from my cold dead hands!
Norway just like Switzerland are too rich cool to join the club, we are still a part of the European Economic Area and Schengen though.
I’d hazard as guess that Linux users are at least a magnitude more likely to be an early adopter of this project than Windows users, at 4% market share it shouldn’t be that big of problem at the start.
You don’t send in information to gulesider/180/1881, it’s automatically added unless you specifically request to have your information removed for whatever reason. They’re great sites to dox yourself for those of us that don’t use a fake name on the Internet.
Can’t read the tweet as Twitter is blocked on Firefox, but my guess would be closer ties with NSA, i.e. NSA can exert more control and monitoring of the data openai collects.
New mods have already been added to the community
Yeah, half of those entries is me stepping in as an admin to ban/remove users breaking instance wide rules, which supersedes community specific moderation. In fact, all of those entries are either admins or automod stepping in.
Is this some Swedish psyop meant to trigger Norwegians? The Scream was painted by Edvard Munch.
You also didn’t link to the actual painting.
