If I’m not mistaken, many smart TVs tend to take multiple screenshots per second and send it back to base with other methods if wifi or ethernet aren’t available, although I gotta research a little more on that.
So even then, don’t connect it to a PC, you’re just waiving your privacy rights
Probably still faster than my ThinkPad 11e at video streaming
I resonate with that point, since I do a digital art/tech class, which uses Macs. I find app crashes and the inaccessibility of certain menus quite infuriating, i even somewhat rage internally for a while until i either quit what i was doing or search it up.
When my 8 year old Fedora laptop freezes, crashes, or sound drivers crash like what happened yesterday, I stay very calm and think of a solution, such as updating and restarting.
even if I haven’t built the OS myself or really customised it at all, i find it more calming that i have options to completely change the software compared to locked down OSes.

Ah yes, buy the food and drink that costs more than the ticket itself… My local cinema is thriving currently, they even have super cheap tickets and don’t give a damn if you bring snacks with you. There was never one time where they removed features of the cinema or made it more expensive, so I am theorising that no, you don’t need to buy the extras to keep the cinema afloat.
I’ve been using Linux since 4 years ago, I’ve distro hopped between Ubuntu, OpenSuse, Fedora and others, I’m currently on Fedora and its working well. I’m not too sure how to manually integrate windows apps into the mix, but it sounds it would take time I don’t really have.
ive known of the pitfalls of SteamOS, i fully agree with you on that and i was considering using it as a 2nd or 3rd option. someone actually mentioned me to use Bazzite, basically fedora based steamOS with either KDE or GNOME, and Android apps through Waydroid.
trying to get windows apps working for me at least was quite difficult last year, ill try it out this time and see if its easier, but if its not i may just switch to bazzite or other steamOS like distros.
Thanks man, I was actually trying tomake a similar implementation on another machine to test out, since I use fedora, but I never knew I could get it out of the box. I’ll try this out on one of my mains since I distro hop occasionally on there to test stuff.
Actually real, I’m genuinely planning to flash steamOS os my school laptop, sincr I have no need for adobe apps, I usually use web based stuff and the apps I do want are just games id likely be able to run through proton.
After hearing about this proposal for three months now, I still believe it’s fucked up, especially the fact they don’t even know what method they’ll use, whether it’s digital IDs (which will take likely at least a decade to become mainstream), facial scanning (authoritarian as fuck), or some other shitty proposal.
There’s also the fact as a child I wasn’t able to go out very much, so social media was useful to me, especially to give me time with friends digitally, and as a time burner, which can be detrimental for a child in a similar place to have it all banned.
In all ways this happens, this will either be extremely authoritarian or would not be necessary as all people set their birth dates to their exact one every time without any variation, like magic, as if that shit would ever happen.
