“Oh no, we’re getting paid to do this thing instead of some other thing.”
Part of having a job is working on things that need to be worked on, not because they’re fun.

Freshman year of college, about 11 years ago.
Been using Manjaro exclusively for about 3 years.
Bruh, I don’t think you understand that heating a room is cheaper than heating your whole house. If I ran my space heater 24/7, I’d be sweating all day. If I run my central heater 24/7, my house barely reaches the temperature my room does before I turn my space heater off.
My electric bill is ~$160 when running the central heater. It’s ~$80 when I run my space heater.
As always, I encourage people to see for themselves rather than trusting strangers on the internet.
Experience is better than theory, every time. I feel sorry for the people who will avoid saving money because of comments like yours.
My electric bill says otherwise.

No, I’m talking from experience.
It’s the difference between an additional $5 and $70 in my electric bill every month.
Well, my electric bill went up a negligible amount and I keep the space heater running pretty much all the time.
Maybe you bought a shitty one or you’re getting a shitty deal for your electricity.
Space heaters are the way to go.
It’s the difference between paying $70 and $5 more per month.
Get her a space heater, you won’t even notice the difference in your bill.
I recommend getting one that blows air instead of one that just heats oil. I’ve used both types, and the one that blows air is way more effective.
I highly recommend avoiding this rhetoric because you will end up paying more for inferior hardware.
You are not actually “doing yourself a favor.”
I highly recommend checking out https://old.reddit.com/r/LaptopDeals/ daily until you find something that meets your needs and budget.
Unfortunately, the “linux-first” vendors do not offer better deals than their competition.
Strawberry.
Our desktops are almost identical, lol.
It’s the only example I know of where communists make an honest attempt to reduce the disparity in wealth rather than exacerbate it.
I bet you watch ads, too.
Yes, this is the big picture view of things.
Unfortunately, a lot of small-minds can’t (or don’t want to) comprehend it.
Exceptions would be indie Devs or filmmakers for which you would have more disposable income to support if you saved your money by pirating big budget films/games/software.
No, this still exacerbates the disparity in wealth unless the creators are globally poor.
That’s what you get for subscribing to something you could be getting for free.
I’d recommend Mint or Manjaro for family computers.
Probably Mint, just because Pamac still has issues.
Fedora is a bad choice because you’re stuck in the dnf ecosystem with no real benefit.
I’m a firm believer that the only value in Fedora is for Red Hat. Their shills are the ones who promote it over more practical options.
No, you see, additional layers of abstraction are always a good thing. Haven’t you been paying attention to the latest software memes? /s
Other people do it. They also just work for donations.
On a side note, I recommend sideloading Blokada 5 to permanently block all ads in apps.
You can download it from their website: https://blokada.org/#download (pick blokada 5)
You have to sideload it because Google banned it from their store for being too effective.
