fb will be doing things at such a massive scale that this would be too much work
did you select the language? that’s what happened to me. had to actually select the language when commenting
please don’t use a temp email (or non existent) for anything you might care about. also, make sure you never typo your email address.
example:
i dunno, there’s over 8 billion people in the world and bazillions of comments daily. I’d be surprised if two people didn’t have similar comments all the time
there was that one time when the following happened all one after the other
none of these 4 things have ever happened since and certainly not more than 1 at a time. having all 4 in one day must have triggered someone inside me to break
second. i think this one is the best. works well on mobile and desktop. can share stuff. has a good free level. i love it
I’ve been putting up tp link omada hardware in a few offices. very stable and easy to use
I’m used to using snapdrop but this seems like it might have more robust options
the federated block list is about to get serious
oh right, that’s a big one there. that images stay on the origin instance and they linked from there
it’s my understanding that you won’t make a full copy of everything. you’ll only copy the communities that are added and you won’t be copying the full history.
I’m unsure how far back it goes but it might be just the one day. i saw talk of changing it to go back as far as someone actually scrolled and pressed next but that was just an idea at this point.
since there isn’t any strong way to collect data or advertise it will always be an underdog compared to big business.
that being said, the fediverse could outlast a few mainstream networks and build lasting strength with that. I’m an ideal setting it could become a defacto network over time.
can we get young people coming here though? that’s how we get the tides to turn
loads of people are making their own and doing pretty much this. I’m planning on giving it a try sometime over the summer. should be a fun project that I can actually keep using for a while. maybe even make my own notes or something.
I might explore options to make private content just for myself
self instance? sure, but that’s not one you can join persay
can an instance have only 1 community for support and then have no content of its own? I believe that many already do (or near to it). This would likely be the recipe for blocking the least and being blocked the least.
they are realizing that if they want to maximize profits they don’t actually need to maximize users.
check out this post I made yesterday where I have a same/similar problem https://lemmy.one/post/19823
if you log into mainstream SM with your account then all previous and future things you do on that system will be linked to you on their end in some way.
