USA literally uses child labor overseas
China’s economy is already undergoing a transformation and they’ve started moving their capital overseas. Chinese owned businesses will operate out of lots of other countries.
Also: it takes a long time for supply chains to handle change as we saw with the pandemic. How many years of high prices for Chinese goods before all of the manufacturing has left China? That is assuming that other countries can immediately match Chinese efficiency and don’t have higher prices for many more years due to needing to recoup the initial expenditure.
Yeah it sucks that capitalists outsourced (and continue to outsource even in the service sector) all of your jobs, but they’re doing it because even the meager amount of your production that was coming back into your pocket rather than lining theirs is too much for them to tolerate you having.
You’re attacking the problem from the wrong angle because that’s how they want you to attack it. Funny how the wealthiest American oligarchs aren’t threatened by any of this economic change that’s supposedly here to help the average American.
You’re worried about “right to work” while Elon added 70 billion to his net worth and thousands of people (generations of his offspring) will never have to work a day in their extravagant lives.
Keep worrying about CHY-nuh, though.
People could tell you how this reasoning doesn’t really add up, but as long as you don’t think you’ll injure yourself I think you should try and see if you can spot it
Organize. Use direct action to sabotage the conservative agenda. General strikes. Protests. Spicy protests.
Maybe it’s time to take the gloves off even as Liberals
Vote blue no matter who against Bush and Cheney and 20 years later use their endorsement.
Democrats will soon carry the banner of a Barron Trump endorsement.
Fuck them.
Americans reading this: don’t wait 4 years for another chance to elect the slightly better option. This is the time for organising and direct action. Join community and labour organizations, prepare for a general strike, sabotage the conservative agenda. You cannot be idle any longer.
They’re actively being combatted by the right.
Not the only way… Maybe we should do something about the “invisible hand” constantly giving us the middle finger
You had me believing you thought in the first half of your comment but then your proved otherwise
Airports and planes see a lot of traffic from all over the world constantly rotating through. With some variation depending on the size of the city and your personal schedule, you’re running into more of the same people on normal public transport.
I don’t understand what you mean. I’m suggesting that China could be making a big deal of old news now that they are offering a viable alternative to Intel chips. Possibly to drum up more business globally, or to have an excuse to ban Intel chips domestically.
It could also be to make that threat in the face of increasing trade war escalation from the United States, as a sort of “watch what you’re doing” warning.
Probably just posturing in preparation for trade war escalation or threats around banning Intel chips now that they’re ready to take on those markets. https://www.ft.com/content/5511d73a-1ada-4884-a559-681502300e4f
Not sure why lemmy liberals are assuming Harris and Biden are secretly against Israel, it’s going to be a big disappointment for you all if the Democrats win again and nothing changes.
Worth noting that this is stored in the repository alongside the code changes and can be referenced in the future if someone is trying to understand that code or fix a bug in that code.
For large projects spanning long periods of time sometimes the best way to find a bug’s cause is to scour the projects history to find out which commit caused the bug to appear, and if that commit doesn’t have a good description you’re unnecessarily disadvantaged when trying to find out why it caused the problem or what assumptions were going into the original code.
This is not only irrelevant but it erases the nature of global contributions to free and open source software.
How many Russians, alone, contributed to these?
Transit latency is a tiny tiny fraction of the round trip time for AI processing tasks. Until AI tasks are in the order of milliseconds instead of seconds it’s a rounding error.
Legislative bodies get their “teeth” by the state monopoly on violence. The UN having teeth would have to mean UN forces, and it’d even have to mean those forces being among the strongest in the world.
It’s a diplomatic tool, not anything else. It encourages communication and collaboration and discourages conflict.
What this person is proposing is functionally similar to forms of anarchism and anarchist theory has some answers to these kinds of questions.
For example the communes could have a federation where representatives are sent to settle disputes. Likewise instead of a fixed 2000 people with walls between you could have people in several smaller overlapping communities which act as bridges across a network of communities. Similar to how a person can be a family member and a company employee and a resident of an apartment building etc.
Though I don’t completely buy in to everything it says, https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/peter-gelderloos-anarchy-works goes into how anarchist communities can and have worked
we can just gently smooch the boots
Of course in the liberal worldview the only political action is voting and so now that voting is over you go after people who didn’t vote or voted wrong and wait four more years until you can (hopefully) vote again.
Instead of retreating with your tail between your legs and waiting for another chance to vote join up with those that are taking direct action through protest and political pressure and fucking riots and strikes.
If more of you joined the anti-genocide voices instead of chanting “vote blue no matter who” your party wouldn’t be the milquetoast status-quo-upholding pro-genocide garbage party it is today.
You can punch left or you can stand with the left and build up the power to punch back.
