Probably because of the Soviets. Dividing up Germany was not without risk. Soviet tanks and American tanks were parked across the boarders from each other with rounds ready to fire.

Are tech illiterate people intentionally using 3rd party software to change their default browser? Genuinely asking because I have always manually set my default on a new device.
We just add a bit of water to the dry food.
He’s right. Just not in the way he means.
Not necessarily. They could be down voted because what they mentioned is hated for a good reason. Like if someone posts “Nazis” or “cancer”.
I don’t really see any false advertising. It is explicitly described as exactly what it is.
“An open source, cross-platform Spotify client compatible across multiple platforms utilizing Spotify’s data API and YouTube, Piped.video or JioSaavn as an audio source, eliminating the need for Spotify Premium”
I guess it lacks the suggestion algo but that’s the privacy compromise I guess.
This is possible on kbin.
Yes but sometimes an employer’s idea of efficiency and the real world do not line up. They won’t tell employees to disregard safety protocols or urinate in bottles explicitly. It becomes the only way for the employee to meet their quota and keep their job.
More likely it takes out democracy.
Yes but if for example management is pressuring employees to make repairs in X amount of time that causes them to have to rush, its the company’s fault. Similar to Norfolk Southern giving train engineers 45 seconds per train car to do safety inspections.
I agree with you but find it funny you included cops in the “conditioned or trained to react to behavior in the most effective way.” An American cop would have also shot the prankster and would probably have emptied his whole clip into him as well.
The whole thing is floppy now.
Yeah you make good points. I think Watergate is still very different because the initial crime wasn’t on behalf of or sanctioned by the government. The wider cover-up was to an extent. I think there is some gray area too. Like you say there is no “state secret”. But when is confidential information held by the government vs individuals within the government holding confidential information? An individual within the government can keep a secret from both the broader government and the public.
No ot wasn’t. The break in was not in the name of the US Government. It was in the name of a presidential candidate.
Falling apart after a year? Maybe it was a lemon? What is your use case?
Its not the microwave, its the plastic container.
I agree with you… It passes people off because their entire life is dependent on fossil fuels. When its been encouraged by society/government for decades and now people have to drive miles to get to the nearest grocery store/point of interest they don’t have an alternative that isn’t uprooting their whole lives.
If you are going tax gas what it should be taxed, you also need to simultaneously make changes that will help people transition to sustainable alternatives. An amount of people will resist no matter what but you need a carrot to go along with the stick.
The only plausible situation I can see is that he or one of his employees was purchasing consumables used as part of the repair business using the affiliate accounts. More likely is that at some point in the past 7 years someone Amazon associates with his account made a purchase using an affiliate link and they used that as the excuse.
So only Alabama actually observes it. It’s the only one that closes state offices. Mississippi combines it with Memorial Day so technically there is a day off and they are diluting Memorial Day. I’m a Floridian and have never heard of his birthday being observed or mentioned. In contrast I actually get Juneteenth off.
