  • The protocol isn’t even the issue, banks already use XRP.

It’s the fact that USD is propped up by Uncle Sam’s globalized monopoly which is kept in tip top shape by geopolitical power.

Everyone trades in USD because it’s the de facto currency and it’s stable because the government can abuse its power to keep it that way.

No one trusts the value of the Ruble, Yuan, Rupee, or even any other currency except for maybe the Euro. They all exist for internal use, which means its just gets compared in value to USD whenever you have to deal with anything external, which is all the time.

BRICS would only fly if a stable trade medium can rapidly prove its worth with market stress and trade requirement, otherwise everyone will just continue to use USD, hence why the USA doesn’t currently view it as much of a threat. And even if you could get countries on board, the US can hold on to a massive noose around everyone’s neck by refusing to trade in anything but USD, which would effectively shut you off from trading with a massive portion of US based/owned/partner companies.

  • XFCE + Compiz

The unholy combination of accelerated 3D graphics and performance, all without the stupid drawbacks of wayland.

Runs much lighter than KDE even with all the 3D cube and windows stuff enabled.

Extremely customizable as well. XFCE already does a great job of UI/UX, it just lacks a compositor to add flare (xfwm4 has no animations, only some blur effects).

  • This is why lots of software has started adopting SSPL license which doesn’t actually fix the problem and isn’t a FOSS license.

I still think a new license scheme should be considered though. Giants like AWS and Google have been profiteering off of FOSS for way too long now.

AGPL has been deemed generally successful in this regard because it has been upheld in court cases and forced companies to comply, which it seems to work pretty great for SaaS.

The problem is these giants will usually just choose a more permissive alternative anyway. Both MongoDB and Redis have forks that they can use, and GPL itself is permissive enough for private forking being legal.

  • I don’t mind when people eat fast food, but I do get annoyed when people brag about eating fast food.

Especially now that prices have inflated so it’s no longer corporate factory machine cheap.

There are so many random food places even in the most rundown parts of a city that have both much better quality and bang for buck.

I’d even argue you’re not getting an authentic philly cheese if you get it from a place that’s not in the ghetto or has been advertised online in any capacity. And the funny thing is the real one is usually cheaper too.

  • They already lived through 4 years of Trump and have decided it is worth doing it again instead of letting the party most currently responsible for said genocide to win.

Point being that Harris has outright refused to meet any sort of demands on Israel. There was no reduction in arms nor any restrictions placed on Israel, and Harris fully intends to continue that policy.

If she loses, it means that she failed to meet her constituents demands, which means they’d have to actually meet them in the next election to win.

Also because I have a hard time seeing how anyone who lost entire family trees would listen to “uM AkShuLly TrUmP woUld bE 9999x WorSe, wE jUst NeEd tO ProTest aFTER tHe ELeCTion” as if we didn’t just full send billions of dollars in munitions and weapons to Israel.

  • I like how Pakistan is striped as if they didn’t just throw away billions of dollars of chinese investments for some IMF loans because the US told them to lol.

Also Afghanistan being green which actually happened right before Pakistan’s thing

EDIT: Also India which always gets refused US arm tech sales because they exclusively buy from Russia lol. It’s like enemy of my enemy but also friend of my other enemy.
