Having near 50gb/s is like, the bandwidth of an entire university campus going into your phone or something. Like just so overkill. You could stream 4K netflix over 3000 times over literally. Like, what could the use for that ever be? You couldn’t even write or store that much data on your phone lol.

It’s like saying you are disappointed because your new car is speed restricted to 50000 mph. Like…cool? It ain’t gonna reach that so we’re fine.

Which is why I asked if it had other benefits like better range or something, presumably that would be the benefit to be hyped over if any.

I mean, if speed is the only reason to upgrade what would be the point? A phone can never make use of 6E speeds it’s entirely pointless to have even faster.

Honestly though by the time wifi 7 is out in the world enough to be utilised the majority of Pixel 8 phones will be on the scrapheap.

Imo admins have a responsibility to disable signups to their server if they feel they are unable to fund/crowdsource or lack the ability to expand capacity (lack of time or know-how).

As long as server admins stick to the above it doesn’t matter if it costs €10 or €100000 a month really.

Its impossible to say at which point is the burden too much, because every person has their own threshold and every server can have multiple admins responsible for it, or might have business backing it or whatever really.

IVPN initially because it is very privacy focused but now I swapped to Nord because it’s basically free if you get cashback offers and it seems to bypass more region restrictions for video streaming etc.

Yeah same. Well actually I’m using Firefox on desktop and Vivaldi on my phone (Android), since I love having desktop style tabs on mobile. The trend of having to press a button to open a tab browser really annoys me and although Firefox sort of addressed that with tab groups now, I think Vivaldi’s implementation is nicer.
