I mean, the point of a mermaid isn’t that it’s a sexy looking fish, it’s that other than its tail, it looks like beautiful human women. In some stories, sailors don’t even realize they’re taking to mermaids because their tails are underwater. Also, mermaids were generally considered bad omens or malicious entities, and when they did seduce humans, it was usually to kill them, so it’s not like the folklore was very pro-mermaid sex.
I don’t know where my Dad got them, but they were pretty much all Apogee games, so he might have order them directly. I was really young, 4 or 5, so I didn’t really ask for them. My Dad would just install them for us and create directory shortcuts so we could load them easily. Part of how I learned to type and read was spelling out, “keen4” and either getting the game to load or, “Bad command or file name.”
Commander Keen: Marooned on Mars. My Dad had an IBM machine that booted up in DOS, and he installed a bunch of games on it for us. No, Cohen wrote a ton of verses that weren’t recorded (he claimed he had a notebook with 80+ verses), but most of what people consider, “extra verses,” are from Cohen’s live version. In fact, Cale, Buckley, and pretty much every version leave out two verses:

I mean, that’s an aspect of the song, but I wouldn’t say that’s what it’s about. The first two verses are full of religious imagery, mostly about David (playing music for the angels, creating the word Hallelujah, Bathsheba) but also Sampson being betrayed by Delilah (“she cut your hair”). Then the rest of the song shifts to first person narration, and while there are still some religious allusions (the holy dove and the Lord of Song verse that no one remembers because it’s not in the John Cale version), it’s just about two people who’ve fallen out of love.
The shift from third-person description of David to the first person narration implies that David is not the subject of the song. The author is just using elements of David’s story (and Sampson’s I guess) to recount how his own love, which was once an expression of joy like Hallelujah, has fallen apart (“It’s a cold and it’s a broken hallelujah”). That’s my read anyway.

Yeah, I think you’re right. Netanyahu is still currently on trial for corruption, he’s struggled to form a governing coalition, and even though he wanted to turn 10/7 into a moment of national unity, most Israeli’s blame him for the attack. He really is not popular domestically, and losing the support of Israel’s largest international partner would probably be the final nail in his coffin. I think this narrative of the U.S., “overthrowing,” Netanyahu is his government’s attempt to spin mild U.S. criticism into foreign election interference.

Edit: Wait, hang on. I just realized I interacted with this account a few days ago. They told me Obama wasn’t conservative because he didn’t strip gay people of their rights; I pointed out that Obama didn’t support gay marriage until his second term, and that he didn’t actually do anything to legalize gay marriage, a conservative leaning Supreme Court did. They then called me privileged and said they couldn’t address my idiocy (or something along those lines).
