Yeah the whole “I love unions, but we at this company are a family so we don’t need that”, is peak anti-union talk. Throughout history it’s been used by people who are horrible to their employees.

They are well aware, they just never expect that it willl impact their own lives, because they all think they’re the special one who is excempt.

Hence the famous quote “He’s not hurting the right ones”.

Odysee is an alternative in the same way that parler is technically an alternative to twitter.

But most sane people stay far away.

Part of the problem is that they slap “AI” on everything, and many people think it’s actually intelligent, and not what amounts to the old school chat bots with more power.

It’s a joke post. Which makes it extra funny, and quite sad, how many of the comment seem to think it’s serious and are unironically chiming in with complaints.

The memes about him have been a lot less derisive, and recently they are semi-positive towards him/meta, people were reasonable in the response to his green screen grilling video and there are jokes about them changing the Threads logo high up on lemmy, etc. And he registered an X logo as trademark to potentially counter Musk.

But honestly we might never know. I doubt they went to work for someone as self-destructive as Musk.

There are multiple stories like that from several people.

Apparently there were people at Tesla who were effectively employed to get fired when he was in one of his moods.

And if you read enough of the stories it all comes down to basically a single PA who kept him away from important things. And that person stopped working for him shortly before the public realized what an asshole he is.

And after learning that, I can’t stop wondering who they work for now… And I want to see a show based on their biography.

They try to present it as “detecting abuse”, but it’s literally just “allow servers to block non-verified browers”(in other words google blocking access to their services for non-chrome users(the people proposing it work for google)).

And as always these types of asshats always shit all over anyone using accessbility tools(or don’t even consider them in the first place, which amounts to the same thing).

Of course he didn’t respond to the 32bit removal, he made his stance pretty clear over a decade ago. The author even said he knew what the answer would be, because how could you be a kernel maintainer without knowing about that email.

While that website is known for terrible writing and fact checking, this isn’t one of those times.

(To clarify the accusation: They once wrote an article complainig about Chun-Li not being included in the latest Mortal Kombat release. They ended up updating the article to clarify that they were not being ironic or making a joke. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. )

Going to the about window to check for updates is a decades old thing among thousands of different software(it’s the same in Edge, Chrome, Opera(old and new), etc)

Clicking on the “Add-ons and Themes” literally takes you straight to the extension tab(extensions are add-ons).

Not to mention the regular occurances of people asking you to locate something they’ve stuck inside themselves.

It’s no excuse, but their training is measured in weeks, not years. And it mostly consists of scaring them into thinking everyone who isn’t another cop is a direct and immediate threat to their lives and must be stopped with deadly force.

They are literally taught that everyone have concealed weapons and dream of killing cops.
