The political establishment in Israel does not recognize Palestine, their goal has long been the eradication of the Palestinian nation.
It’s weird the parents that are complicit in this, like how do they justify it in their mind? I had a girlfriend in high school whose mom encouraged her to post risque photos online in 8th grade, taking photos of her with her thong out posing seductively etc, she wanted her daughter to be hot. Maybe the parents are trying to relive their youth vicariously.
But you are right, worse than the random parents encouraging this, the platforms knowingly encourage this sexualization of children because they know the ad revenue it can generate.
Diverging IDF agendas: “Should we bomb the children or starve them?”
If every politician we can vote for is evil or a slightly ‘lesser’ evil, we need to do much more than vote anyway.
If viewed like a ‘total war’, attacking every possible advantage the enemy may have whether civilian or military, it does makes sense from a historic military doctrine standpoint. The IDF believes they are immune to judgement and prosecution, and their goal is to destroy the Palestinian nation and people. They believe they are righteous, supported by God, so any attack that has a chance to weaken the Palestinian people is an attack they will take.
Overall though I believe these attacks have weakened support for Israel so much that they have a greater chance of being defeated than anytime I’ve seen before this conflict.
In my experience people in the Northeast US pretty much never refer to New York City as just ‘New York’. New York will mean the state, they will say ‘the city’ or ‘NYC’ to differentiate from the state. Or they will say upstate to mean the rest of the state outside of NYC metro area.
It appears so, it was called other things by native people but the Dutch seem to be the first to call it Long Island in the 1600s. Many geographic features in the area have similar sort of names, like Short Hill, East River, West River, Indian Hill, Short Beach, Beaver Swamp, the colonists really weren’t very clever with their naming.
In NY state it essentially means anywhere north of NYC, the capital city Albany is upstate NY. It doesn’t seem to mean north of the capital in any state unless that capital is at the southern part.
Especially when knowing that the attacking force has no care for whether their strikes hit a foreign aid group or Palestinian civilians.
Their supporters still will say they have the most sophisticated weaponry and guidance systems. These attacks are purposeful.
There was a thread this week about Biden’s achievements and it got at least 600 comments haha.
I remember thinking “hah, business majors, don’t they know everything is gonna be ruled by tech?” And then it turns out the tech nerds just work for the business majors still.
I agree that a school doing each individual students meal like that would be inefficient, and yeah it’s better if you have a rare allergy or condition to just prepare food yourself haha. I think there are larger groups that can be recognized that have specific diets like kosher, halal, vegetarian etc that are not so rare that it isn’t a massive undertaking to have that as well. Maybe like if a certain percentage of students have a diet the school would prepare that.
How is this different than a city saying “if we allow you to fly a flag for the Steelers, what’s next, a Nazi German flag?” Any reasonable person can see that there is a clear line between something like a flag that supports an innocuous mainstream idea and a flag representing a terrorist organization, it’s ridiculous and clearly motivated by bigotry. Cities and towns have been displaying rainbows in various forms for years during pride month and I haven’t seen any inch of progression towards right-wing Islamic terror groups being supported also.
Hamas is one of several Palestinian groups fighting Israel. They are just the most prominent, in part due to the Israeli government’s long term funding of them. People ‘rioting’ are supporting military action against Israel, not any particular militant group. If Hamas wasn’t there, you would be saying they are supporting a different group.
As someone else pointed out all of those dietary restrictions can be due to allergies, I think it would be pretty fucked up to fund lunch for students but not allow those with allergies to get lunch at school. Even if only one student at the school has a specific diet that needs to be catered too, that wouldn’t be different than having one student that was blind being given the same opportunities at the public school in my view, and whatever small cost it might increase to do this is worth it to properly feed children.
It shouldn’t be, but I do see it on TVs in public more often than any other news I think which is concerning
It is essentially the same, it would result in the deaths of thousands. Even the Nazis tried to relocate Jewish people and realized it wasn’t feasible. The people advocating for relocation know this.
I mean I’m trying but I could always be more woke probably
