Mine would probably be my ghetto breakfast sandwiches. I usually throw a little shredded cheese, diced onion, and hot peppers into a coffee mug and crack and egg into it and then scramble it. Microwave that for a min while i toast an English muffin or bagel. Then put it together with maybe a thin slice of ham. Excellent breakfast sandwich. People think I’m nuts for making the eggs in a microwave, but it works well, has an easy cleanup, and is super quick in the mornings before work.

While never calling it your excellent “quickadilla” name, I have been doing that with leftover beef and chicken taco ingredients for years. It also works well with some leftover Asian and Indian dishes.

So I just bought a brand new “dumb” TV for $150 off of Amazon (43" 1080 Sceptre). It isn’t high end in the slightest, but it IS brand new and not some weird old stock and the picture and sound don’t feel too far off from my significantly more expensive higher end LCD TVs. I wanted one that I could put on a rolling stand and move between a few rooms and saw no benefit to 4k at that screen size. Other than that, there are some decent “digital signage” TVs that were decently priced available as well from Samsung and a few other brands. I didn’t see anything that was OLED, but I was burned hard (quite literally with burn-in) on earlier OLED gear, so I am avoiding it until the prices get low enough that I can be fine with the chance that it will be crap after 4-5 years of use.

Beholders and Mind Flayers are probably my favorites. As a bonus, whenever someone says “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” I can’t help but ask “but which eye? They have so many!”

I was a gifted kid, I’d say most our class was really freaking weird in some way or another. There were definitely those weird ultra good rule followers on one side and the totally weird misfits/defiant troublemakers on the other with very few seeming “normal” kids in the middle. Despite having higher IQs, I don’t think that the students were generally more successful than other students in life. In fact, based on those that I am still in touch with, they might be below average in that respect.

For all its very real shittiness, you will likely find that Amazon ships faster, has lower prices, has a better selection, and much easier returns than other online shops. This almost entirely the result of their massive monopolistic power. I don’t begrudge people that are squeezed for time and money from trying to save either, but Amazon needs to be broken up.

My stance is that XMPP and Matrix are only private if you self host and don’t federate. That really cuts down on who may want to use them, but it can be great for a small community, company, or family assuming you can get everyone to buy in.

This is the RSS reader I use and like it a lot, but no it does not have an export feature like that.

I’ll add another vote to how good Google Keep is for this, but as this is a privacy community, I’m not sure that is a suggestion that you want to hear.

I’ve also had good luck sharing documents with Syncthing, but because we tend to only have it sync on wifi it didn’t work as well for groceries specifically because you can’t add items to the list after the person shopping has left the home and expect them to see them.

Most grocery stores sell alcohol in Florida, but only the beer and while variety. Hard liquor is only available in liquor stores. FL is actually a lot less restricted on that than many other states.

Good question and I have a hard time nailing it down to a single pizza.

For the pizza style it has to be either New York style or Detroit Style.

For toppings, it is either pepperoni and black olives, sliced meatball and banana peppers, or rarely since most places don’t make it this way, a buffalo chicken pizza with blue cheese (NOT ranch) instead of marinara and hot sauce.

That’s interesting about using FreePascal for that, I didn’t know there was any toolchain to compile to that SoC. I actually wrote a small set of libraries that ran on top of an existing, but very bare) SDK back in the day for writing GBA games in C. I forgot to grab it and rehost it when Google Code went away and it is now lost to time.

Since size is paramount, I’d probably fill about half of this space with NES, GB, and SNES roms and the emulators to play them as well as a few highly replayable classic PC games (CIv, SIm City, X-Com, Warcraft 2, Doom) and some small programs to edit/create images, and a small compiler and text editing tool (maybe Pascal based as another commenter suggested). The rest would be filled with a tremendous amount text books in a compressed archive, both fiction and non-fiction.

Something like Project Gutenberg would fit well here. You’d never run out of books for the rest of your life.

You just skipped the entire SNES catalog for some N64 titles?

Wasn’t the full Daggerfall install was actually closer to 400MB. I remember I bought a second HDD just to house Daggerfall since not loading anything from CD made it crash less.

Edit: Just forgot to mention that I love how detailed this list is and you are basically describing my late 90s PC, except it was Turbo Pascal and slightly older versions of Worms and RTS games.

I just replaced my 3070 with a RX 7900XT and it was a very noticeable difference in performance. It doesn’t help that my primary display is 3840x1600 though. The 3070 was never particularly great for that res.
