Hundreds of protesters have filled the main concourse of New York City’s famed Grand Central Terminal to demand a cease-fire as Israel intensifies its bombardment of the Gaza Strip.
I support protesting, but I really don’t understand how these people in other countries expect that their protest is going to sway the Israeli government or Hamas. The war would go on even if we didn’t aid Israel.
The US is still, to some extent, a democracy. The US also has major influence over what israel does. Protests show that a non-trivial fraction of the population does not support our current stance. It may not change anything yet, but it’s a necessary step.
after the West pulled the plug out of South-Africa and Rhodesia, those regimes imploded.
This. I don’t think most people realize/remember just how supportive governments in countries like the US and UK were towards Apartheid South Africa before the people made it clear we don’t want to support that stuff.
How much monetary support does Israel receive compared to how much does it earn from exports?
I’m looking up their industries and Israel is into diamond cutting, which carries its own ethical issues
You are delusional if you think all of this hasn’t increased Israeli support. Hell being anti-Isreal just makes you look pro-terrorist at this point. Isreal isn’t going anywhere, they would wipe Palestine off the map before they would even contemplate leaving.

Not true.
Israel is totally dependent on American and European support, but especially American support.
They are basically the last western apartheid style colony, after the West pulled the plug out of South-Africa and Rhodesia, those regimes imploded.
Which is why I don’t think Israel is viable as a state in its current form.
European support is rapidly evaporating and concentrated among older voters. We will probably switch to boycotting them within 20 years.
American support will probably last longer, but is also concentrated among older generations.

Being anti-israel is being anti-imperialist, anti-apartheid, and anti-capitalist
The fuck you lying about? Lol the people side with the people suffering, the Palestinians.
My whole point is I’m anti-terrorist and that includes both hamas and israel
At the very least nobody should be aiding Israel in their genocide.
Luckily they are getting tons of support to prevent their own genocide
The US gives Israel huge support, monetarily, militarily, etc.
You don’t sound like you support protesting.
Yeah. I’d be fine with just stopping all aid to Israel.
