It really is incredible that theyre capable of adapting with such a drastic change to their bodies in order to adapt to cold. Theyre so intelligent and well adapted to their surroundings and yet they live such short lives. One wonders what the world would be like if there were long lived ocotpus out there
Octopus lifecycles are tied to their reproductive cycles. Specimens that had undergone surgery to remove their optic glands lived significantly longer, even if they’d already reproduced.
